Other Requirements ...
The DCs from each domain need to be able to establish RPC connections to the DCs in the other domain to establish the trust so it needs to be able to find it. There are two ways to allow the machines to locate each other:
Required Steps ...
Once the two domain controllers can locate each other, the trust relationship can be established and verified using User Manager. This is a two step process:
Step One

Now, call the administrator of the other domain and give them your password. At the same time, get their password.
Step Two

You should receive a message indicating that the trust relationship was successfully established. Occasionally
you may receive a message indicating that the trust relationship was not able to be verified. This latter
condition may occur if your primary domain controller was not able to contact the remote PDC. This may be due to the remote PDC being off line or as a result of it not being defined locally in your domain.
